SafeTick is building trust in the internet community by establishing sites with trustworthy aims and values. Whenever you see the SafeTick seal on a website it shows the webmaster(s) have applied the necessary privacy and security measures to their site for their visitors to have a safe experience. Click on any seal to verify a sites certificate and view details specific to the site. We monitor our certificate holders websites weekly to ensure our safety guidelines are adhered to and maintained at all times.

Requirements for Certificate holders:

In order to hold a SafeTick Certificate and show a SafeTick Seal on a website, the site must meet the following requirements:

Publish a relevant privacy policy covering all essential topics
Include a prominent link to their privacy policy on the homepage
Have a contact email which works at all times
Respond to valid customer enquiries within 72 hours
Minimum 128-bit SSL Security certificate if card processing

What is SafeTick?

SafeTick is dedicated to protecting consumers online; sites which are validated to carry the SafeTick logo have been audited by SafeTick so visitors can be sure that they are visiting a reputable and safe website.

How does it work?

Companies submit their websites to SafeTick to be validated. SafeTick will then undertake several checks on the website:

• Check that the website is not on a known list of phishing websites.
• Run standard tests to make sure there is no vulnerable code on the website, such as code vulnerable to a cross site scripting attack.
• Check that the website conforms to the useable website guidelines, which includes not spawning pop-up windows.

Once these checks have been run the site is valid to show the SafeTick logo, however, the testing is ongoing:

• Every week the customer support email address is sent an email from a dummy email address with a request for help, if the site does not reply within 24 hours then they are no longer valid for the SafeTick logo, this ensures that if you see the SafeTick logo you know that the site is one which has god customer care standards and is not a dead site which has been  left online.
• The site is also checked once a month for bad coding or failures to adhere to the good conduct guidelines.

These checks mean that if you see the SafeTick logo on  a website you know that the site is a real site, not a phishing site used by criminals to steal personal information, you know that the site is current and responsive and you know that the coding standards of the site are good so you will not lose information to attackers who attack the website.
